How to Face Swap in OBS Studio

Open Live Face Swap

1. Start a live face swap and open the output

1. On the homepage, choose Face Swap, LFS Prism, and a reference you have permission to use.
2. Open your camera and start live AI. Wait until the generated face moves in the result preview.
3. Choose OBS Studio below the result preview. A browser source receives video through a link. Window capture uses the separate Live Face Swap Output window.

2. Add a source in OBS

Browser source

Sign in to the studio and choose Browser source → Copy OBS link. On the same computer, open Sources → ＋ → Browser in OBS and paste the link into URL. You can use 1280 × 720. Keep the studio open and share the link only with trusted receivers. Refreshing the OBS source reconnects it.

Window capture

Choose Window capture → Open output window, then select the source for your operating system.

Windows

1. In your OBS scene, select Sources → + → Window Capture.
2. Select Live Face Swap Output as the window. Turn off cursor capture if you want a clean feed.
3. Resize the source on the scene canvas. If browser borders appear, crop to the video.

macOS 13 or later

1. Select Sources → + → macOS Screen Capture and set Method to Window Capture.
2. Select Live Face Swap Output as the window. If macOS asks, allow OBS to record your screen in System Settings → Privacy & Security and reopen OBS.
3. Resize or crop the source to fit your scene.

3. Check video and microphone

Move your head and check that the generated face follows in the OBS preview. The output window carries video. Add Audio Input Capture for your microphone in OBS, and confirm that its meter moves. Record a short test locally in OBS to check the crop and whether voice and motion line up.

Troubleshooting

The window is missing or black

Open the output again from the workbench and allow pop-ups for the site if prompted. Keep the window unminimized and reselect it in OBS. If the output window itself shows the waiting screen, check the generated preview in the workbench. On Windows, try another Capture Method if the browser window shows video and OBS shows black. On macOS, check OBS screen recording permission.

Video stops when I switch windows

Check that both the workbench and Live Face Swap Output are still open and that generation has time remaining. Closing the workbench ends the session. Closing the output window does not end AI generation. Switching tabs or applications does not stop the session either. Use End session in the workbench and wait for its stopping state.

Can I reuse my source or change methods?

Ending the session clears the picture in OBS. Start the next face swap in the same tab, check the preview, then select Resume OBS output to reuse the source. Closing or reloading the studio requires a new setup.

Use OBS Studio → Change method to prepare a replacement. The browser source takes over when it receives the picture. For window capture, select the new window in OBS and confirm in the studio. You can cancel the switch and keep the previous source. Disconnect OBS stops sharing. Use End session to end generation and credit usage.
